Metal salts can cause scaling problems in boilers, heat exchangers, and other water circulation systems found in the power, brewing, sugar and diary industries. Our Chelating agents form stable, water-soluble metal complexes with all potentially harmful metal ions, dissolving existing scale formations and preventing new ones forming.

Our chelating agents deactivate the unwanted heavy metal ions that are often introduced through raw materials in the manufacture of soap and of detergents that contain perborates. They have the effect of boosting the effectiveness of biocides and are sometimes used as builders in detergents.

Heavy metal ions catalyze the decomposition of bleaching agents (peroxide, ozone, and hydrosulfite), the decay of food (by metals found in the packaging board), and can lead to brightness reversion of pulp and paper. Our chelating agents are used to remove unwanted metal ions and to deactivate any that remain.

Every crop needs several kind of nutrients. Our metal chelates act as carriers for micronutrients, ensuring that plants get the trace elements they need, regardless of environmental conditions. Products can be applied on or in the soil or can be sprayed onto plants. High-purity metal chelates are available to meet the rigorous demands of soil-less culture (hydroponics).

Our chelating agents are used to prevent turbidity and scum formation in developing baths and to inhibit catalytic oxidation of the developer by heavy metal ions. Chelated ferric ions are used to oxidize metallic silver into soluble silver ions, which can then be washed from films. Our chelating agents act as carriers of these ferric ions and play an essential role in accelerating and fine-tuning the reactivity of these ferric ions with metalic silver.

Metal ions can cause the formation of insoluble resin soaps in water- thin- ned inks. In offset printing, the formation of polyvalent metal soaps may cause unwanted discoloration. Our chelating agents are used to overcome these problems, resulting in clear and color-stable inks.

One of our iron chelates has been approved by the World Health Organization and the Food and Agriculture Organization to be used as an iron supplement in food. Heavy metal ions catalyze the degradation of vegetable oils and fats that can make food and beverages rancid. Our chelating agents deactivate these undesirable metal ions, preserving the quality of the food and increasing the shelf life.

The rapid setting of Portland cement and gypsum can be a problem. For example, in modern gypsum boards mills the proper balance of multiple admixtures is essential for optimum operation. Our chelates are applied as a synthetic retarding agent, giving more flexibility to the production process.

Solutions containing copper ions are used in the production of printed circuit boards. Our chelates fulfil several functions: it is a metal carrier, it stabilizes process baths, and neutralizes trace impurities.

Ferric (Fe3+) and ferrous (Fe2+) ions play a key role in initiating emulsion polymerization processes to produce SBR and ABS. Our chelating agents act as carriers of ferric ions. They also conserve natural rubber lattices by deactivating metal ion impurities that can catalyze decomposition.

During the scouring and bleaching of textile fibers, our chelating agents remove and deactivate heavy metal ions that would otherwise catalyze the decomposition of the peroxide bleaching agent. They also improve the performance of dye batchs, where hardness ions inhibit dye penetrating the fiber.

The presence of heavy metal ions such as calcium or barium often causes scaling problems in oil wells, especially when sulfate ions are present. Our chelating agents are used in enhanced oil recovery to re-dissolve mineral deposits.

Our chelating agents are used to selectively extract precious metals.

Our chelating agents act as metal carriers (particularly chromium and aluminium) in the tanning process.

Ferric ions oxidize the conversion of H2S to elemental sulfur. Our chelating agents activiate the ferric ions and prevent them from precipitating. Our metal chelates enable nitrous oxide to dissolve in water, making it available for chemical and bacterial reduction to form nitrogen.

Trace metal elements are important for the health and growth of animals. These metals can be introduced into animal feed in a controlled manner by using our metal chelates. Our chelates are also used as preservatives in animal feed.
