AKZO NOBEL TO INCREASE CHELATES PRICES FOR THE EMA MARKET
Amersfoort, The Netherlands, 31 July 2007

The Chelates group of Akzo Nobel Functional Chemicals will increase prices on their Dissolvine® range of chelating agents by 20 – 25% with effect from 1st January 2008.

“The increase, which is the result of an exceptional rise in the price of major raw materials, will see liquids increasing by € 0.08 to € 0.30 per kg and powders by a minimum of € 0.25 per kg”. “We are taking the unusual step of making this announcement six months in advance to ensure that all customers are aware of the change and will have time to incorporate the information in their planning process for 2008”, says Greg Stafford – Akzo Nobel’s Business Manager EMA, Chelates.

The Dissolvine® group regret that the stability that has been so much a feature of recent years can not be maintained but are hopeful that this necessary correction will be an isolated incident. “Our local representatives will shortly be contacting all customers to give a detailed explanation of the impact of the planned changes at which time they will answer any questions raised”.
